Pay Range: $22. 53-$23.78 [Pay range depends on job location.]


POSITION OVERVIEW:
 
Janitorial services are generally defined as keeping a building clean.  This is accomplished by routine dusting, mopping, vacuuming, and waxing or polishing floors.  Other services provided include emptying trash, cleaning and washing interior walls and doors and cleaning, sanitizing, and deodorizing restrooms.  The company’s goals are to maintain our clients’ properties in clean and in orderly conditions and to provide excellent customer service.
 
GENERAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
 
Janitors keep the workplace clean, organized, and disinfected.  Janitors usually work after business hours/evenings.  Generally, English speaking is required.  Specific duties include, but are not limited to:
 

What You’ll Do

  • Cleaning the interior of buildings, including floors, carpet, rugs, windows, and walls;
  • Disinfecting commonly-used items like desks, door handles, office tools, and phones;
  • Maintaining cleaning inventory and ordering supplies when needed;
  • Emptying trash and recycling bins;
  • Communicating regularly with supervisor;
  • Following and keeping updated on work hazards and safety procedures; and
  • Additional duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Valid California Driver’s License if job includes travel.
  • Physically able to perform light duty labor and lift up to 60 pounds and push up to 100 pounds.
  • Physically able to walk, stand, lift, reach, bend, kneel, climb, twist, pull, squat, grasp, and use arm-hand coordination on a consistent basis.
  • Knowledge of how to use electronic time tracking systems and other applications on cell phone and computer.
  • Understand and follow California law regarding time recording/meal breaks/rest breaks.
