Job Title: Floor Technician (Utility) Lead
Job Summary
The Floor Technician Lead is a working lead responsible for supporting and guiding field crews while performing hands-on janitorial and floor care work. This role requires operating specialized floor care equipment, enforcing safety standards, coordinating daily tasks, and responding to coverage needs or special cleaning assignments across multiple sites.
Floor Technician Leads are expected to maintain a high standard of cleanliness, professionalism, and safety always and may be required to clean multiple areas within a worksite.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supervise, schedule, and site support
  • Act as a working lead for assigned crews and job sites
  • Review daily assignments with supervisor and plan work accordingly
  • Provide on-the-job guidance and support to team members
  • Help with managing quality, safety, or completion of work.

Cleaning & Floor Care

  • Perform janitorial and floor care duties, including but not limited to:
  • Scrubbing, stripping, waxing, buffing, shampooing, extracting, and mopping floors
  • Operate floor care equipment such as auto scrubbers, buffers, extractors, wet vacuums, and carpet cleaning machines
  • Perform general cleaning and disinfecting as needed
  • Always maintain clean and organized work areas

Equipment, Inventory & Vehicles

  • Gather and use proper tools, equipment, and cleaning products for each assignment
  • Inspect equipment to ensure proper working conditions
  • Maintain company vehicles in a safe, clean, and orderly condition
  • Flexibility & Coverage
  • Travel between multiple job sites as needed
  • Respond to emergencies, call-offs, and special assignments
  • Perform related duties as assigned by management

Safety & Compliance

  • Follow all company safety rules and regulations without exception
  • Use required PPE, safety belts, and wet floor signage always
  • Maintain safe use of chemicals and equipment
  • Attend required safety training courses and meetings
  • Report safety concerns, incidents, or equipment issues promptly

Qualifications & Experience Required

  • Janitorial: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Stripping floors: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Waxing floors: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Buffing floors: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Office cleaning: 1 year (Preferred)
  • Ability to safely operate floor care equipment
  • Ability to read cleaning labels and follow instructions
  • Strong listening and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and follow building maps
  • Basic mobile app experience

Work Environment

  • Small to large commercial office environments
  • Fast-paced setting
  • Regular exposure to dust, odors, noise, and equipment

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 100 pounds
  • Ability to safely operate cleaning and floor care equipment
